Product Questions

Product Questions

  • My Polaris seems to spend most of its time in the top left hand corner of the pool, regardless of where you start it, it always makes its way to that spot. The middle and dirtiest part of the pool doesn't seem to get much attention. Any thoughts anyone?
One of the first things that goes bad with the Polaris 380 is the drive belt. You can test the cleaner to see if the drive belt needs to be replaced. If you take the cleaner out of the pool with the pump off, spin one wheel on the two wheel side. If only the one wheel spins, the belt needs to be changed. You can also check to make sure you are getting enough pressure to the cleaner and adjust the thrust jet to 11 o'clock.
  • My Polaris 380 is less than 1 year old but today it stopped moving around the pool. Pressure is fine and the wheels seem to move when out of the water. But the back of the cleaner sticks up causing one of the wheels to not touch the pool bottom. What do

There are a few things you should check.

    1. Check the head float. If it is too far back it could cause the back end to float. Try adjusting it so the head float is closer to the Feed Pipe.

    2. Do the tire rotation test from your owner's manual. Your Polaris could be getting too much pressure from the pump.

    3. Make sure the feed hose floats are the correct distance from the cleaner. If they are too close they could be pulling the cleaner up out of the water.
