Our pool was infected with black algae (actually Cyanobacteria) a number of years ago by our dogs swimming in a nearby pond and then stepping onto the pool sun ledge to drink pool water. This is the only product that I’ve found that can effectively control a yearly return of the black algae. The procedure to remove the “active infection” (ugly black slimy spots on the pool plaster) is a grueling days long procedure and includes using this product. If used routinely in a maintenance schedule the infection will not become active again. I used ChatGPT to suggest additional things to do to ensure it won’t come back. I highly recommend this product.
